Our $67K wedding almost ended us. Three years later we're debt-free with a baby on the way.

I posted here about our insane $67K destination wedding in Santorini. We put $31K on credit cards and spent our first year of marriage fighting about money every single day. We almost divorced over it -- literally sat in a lawyer's consultation room. That was the wake-up call. We walked out of that office, went home, and made a spreadsheet together. We sold the expensive gifts we got, consolidated debt to a lower APR, both picked up side work, and set a rule: no purchase over $50 without discussing it. Took us 34 months but we cleared the entire $31K in credit card debt. And you know what? Going through that together made our marriage stronger than any overpriced sunset ceremony ever could. Baby's due in March.
